Review and Prospect of Disciplines and Majors Setting of China's Universities

Disciplines and majors setting of universities were promoted by China's social reform in different stages. The evolution of disciplines and majors setting showed significant characteristics of times and stages. Several main problems of disciplines and majors setting, such as portability, outer-limiting and short-term, were found through reviewing its history, which can provide experience for the new reform of universities. Lastly, based on the problems and combined with the times, some suggestions are proposed for the prospect of disciplines and majors setting of universities in the future.
