  • Risk perception is an important part of risk assessment and risk management. Carding and drawing on contemporary risk perception theories and methods will help further enhance our risk assessment and risk management theory and practical level. Psychometric paradigm emphasizes that subjective characteristics and subjective feeling of risk source is measured by utilizing the method of psychology, while cultural theory paradigm emphasizing cognitive subject can understand risk perception and risk related behavior from the perspective of their way of life. Subject fusion between two schools of study trend and risk of postmodern trend is more and more obvious. Although the debate of both sides on public risk perception research utility will continue in the academic circles, the risk perception research should become the premise and foundation of risk management policy.
