Abstract:
With the rapid development of Chinese Internet industry, the concentration in this industry is also growing. At the same time, acts of unfair competition among enterprises are gradually increasing, which has aroused widespread concern about the anti-monopoly of the Internet industry. However, the economic model for Internet industry is quite different from that for traditional industries which leads to a problem that the existing Chinese antitrust law cannot meet the needs of the anti-monopoly of Internet industry. This paper summarizes the features of the network economic model, and proposes the challenges with antitrust law used for the Internet industry. Based on the particularity of the development of Chinese Internet industry, the paper puts forward three suggestions for anti-monopoly:enhancing the management for abuse of market dominance behavior, improving the measures relating to the protection of property rights, and supporting the entrepreneurial Chinese Internet companies.
