Chromosome Feature Extraction via Topographic Analysis

摘要: 利用尺度空间模型表达图像的微分结构,将染色体带型特征归结为图像灰度场中的地形特征(深带和浅带分别视作峰和鞍,中轴线视作脊),并给出微分几何描述,特征提取充分利用了图像的灰度信息,提高了准确性,有利于染色体的识别工作.Abstract: Chromosome classification is very significant in the domain of medical image processing, and feature extraction is the key within this process. In this paper, the topographic analysis approach to extract chromosome features in gray-level image, which is operated by scale-space filter, is described. Bands on chromosome are described as a series of peaks and saddles, and symmetric axes as ridges. Differential geometry is used for the exact definition of ridge, as well as peak and saddle. The results of feature extraction in terms of those definitions are also presented, and they seem more precise for the classification task.
