Research and application of progressive coding of 3D model and streaming transformation

摘要: 根据网络图形发展的需要,实现一种适用于网络流式传输的三维模型简化编码.简要介绍了几种现存的三维模型简化编码,并分析其不足,继而提出一种基于三角网格的简单而高效的实用算法.由于采用了渐进式编码方式及流技术,使应用这种算法后生成的模型文件可以高效、方便地以渐进方式在网络上传输.最后给出了相关结论数据以及算法实验结果的效果图.Abstract: A 3D model simplification and coding algorithm, which is suitable for the network transformation according to the actual requirement, was described. Some existing simplification algorithms were compared, and the shortcomings were analyzed. Based on the triangle meshes, a simple and efficient algorithm was developed. Due to the progressive coding and streaming technology, files encoded by this algorithm can be easily transferred through the network. Finally, a conclusion and some pictures of this algorithm's result were presented.
